Pregame: Red Wings @ Hurricanes - 10/4

The Red Wings kick off their first Eastern Conference road trip tonight, having made the quick hope to Raleigh (yesterday) to visit the Carolina Hurricanes. They'll head up the coast tomorrow to visit the Boston Bruins.

Detroit's lineup will be the same as the one that won on Opening Night against the Sabres, meaning Jimmy Howard gets the start and Tomas Tatar and Brian Lashoff are the healthy scratches.

Game time is 7:00 PM on FSD.

I know it's only the second game, but I don't think this team is as good as the team that took Chicago to 7 games last season....Maybe they've just come up a couple of good goalies. I'm missing the young guys, their speed and pop....

The team looked pretty awful tonight. I'm worried about the defense a little. But damned if they didn't wake up when they needed to.

As I Tweeted (and forgot to use the hashtag to import it to here), the Wings have never lost in overtime in Raleigh. The only other time they went to OT in Carolina was Larionov's 3OT game.
