Misconduct

Pregame: Red Wings @ Ducks - 3/24

The Red Wings and Ducks meet again in Anaheim tonight, two days after Detroit downed the Ducks 5-1 at the Honda Center.

It's only the fourth time since 1957 that the Red Wings have played consecutive games against a team in the same arena in the regular season. The Red Wings are 5-6-3 all-time in the second game of those matchups.

The only lineup change for Detroit will be that Damien Brunner will sit as a healthy scratch while Jordin Tootoo swaps back in. Technically, Carlo Colaiacovo is also a healthy scratch but he was on IR for the first game of this series, so the blue line remains unchanged.

Jimmy Howard gets the start for the Wings.

Game time is 8:00 PM on FSD.

Kindl and Cleary on a road power play. Who would have predicted that ten games ago?

Dare I say that the Wings are not looking quite as sharp in the second period? ...counting a bit too much on Jimmy?

Turned it up a bit but definitely counting on Jimmy too much.

Getzlaf kind of willed that. Miller *almost* knocked the puck away.

Mickey used to say that a 2 goal lead was very hard to protect? or was it the hardest? I haven't heard him say ithat for a while...jinxed too many 2 goal leads?

Post-lockout (the 2005 one) it became a three-goal lead. But I still feel like the Ducks are about to tie this. Wings on their heels.

Ducks need anger management therapy.....

All class from the Ducks there at the end. What a pathetic franchise.

Again I must say that the Wings have been the unlikely beneficiary of Lady Luck.....

But they deserve it!

I take that back...good goal tending is not simply a matter of luck.....

Iginla in Detroit? Pretty cool?

Posted by OldBroad on 3/24/2013 at 10:59 PM

I don't think Iginla will happen. Price will be too high. I'd love it, though.

I also don't trust the source of those rumors. Everyone earlier today was saying Iginla had approved four teams: LA, Boston, Chicago and Pittsburgh. Kyper is the only one who added Detroit to the list, and he's the one who said Suter was confirmed to be coming to Detroit last summer.
