The slumping Red Wings visit the Nashville Predators tonight, with the big story being the return of Jordin Tootoo to the city where he began his NHL career.
Tootoo played eight seasons with the Predators after being drafted by them in 2001. He signed as a free agent with the Red Wings in the 2012 offseason.
The Red Wings will be making two lineup changes following their 3-2 loss to the Minnesota Wild on Sunday. Jimmy Howard will get the start in goal after a night off against the Wild (and will be backed up by Jonas Gustavsson, with Petr Mrazek having been sent back to the Grand Rapids Griffins). On defense, Kent Huskins is back out of the lineup in favor of Jakub Kindl.
The Predators are coming off a 6-5 loss in Colorado on Monday afternoon. They're expected to start Pekka Rinne in goal.
Game time is 8:00 PM on FSD.
And now Mikael Samuelsson is back out of the lineup after taking a shot off the hand in practice today. Patrick Eaves is back in. Jan Mursak, who's been cleared to play, will have to wait to make his season debut.
Well, I suppose that period could have been worse, but I'm not entirely sure how. Howard gone. Emmerton gone. Kronwall... He's back but is he 100%? Took a SHG by Cleary of all people to get within one goal. And every call is going against Detroit.
