MLive's Ansar Khan reports that the Red Wings will open their 2012-13 season at Joe Louis Arena hosting the Nashville Predators.
The Predators eliminated Detroit from the 2012 postseason in a five-game first-round matchup.
The full schedule is expected to be announced on Thursday.
