I was going to post some actual postgame notes but I decided video is better.
Take a look at the Red Wings' fourth goal. That pretty much sums up the entire game right there.
Tonight, everything the Wings did worked and nothing the Wild did made a difference. Absolute dominance by Detroit, either by skill or by luck (a combination of the two, as would be expected).
On the downside, the loss of Todd Bertuzzi is worrisome. We'll have to wait and see whether he can go against Chicago on Sunday.
The coming off an awful win over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday, the Red Wings take on the other 2000-01 expansion team tonight as they host the Minnesota Wild.
The good news is that Kyle Quincey will be back in the lineup, having recovered from his groin injury. The bad news is that Nicklas Lidstrom will miss both this game and Sunday's matchup against the Chicago Blackhawks with a deep bone bruise in his ankle, suffered while blocking a shot against the Colorado Avalanche last week.
Jimmy Howard gets the start for Detroit, up against Wing-killer Josh Harding.
Game time is 7:30 PM on FSD. I might need to join this one in progress.
Helm? When did he learn to finish? He's been on a tear.
Wings looking good tonight. Couldn't post earlier, like the effort tonight though.
