The Detroit Red Wings face elimination again tonight as they visit the San Jose Sharks in Game Five of their Western Conference Semifinal matchup.
With a win, the Sharks will eliminate the Red Wings on the anniversary of the same accomplishment last season.
The Red Wings played their best game of the series to stay alive on Friday night but still suffered a let down in the second period and allowed the Sharks to come back. They're going to need an even stronger game with San Jose looking to finish the series off at home.
No lineup changes are expected for either team.
Game time is 8:00 with TV coverage by Versus. I'll probably miss the start of this one as I've got to head out of town to do Mother's Day with the in-laws and won't be back in time, but the fancy new forums are open for everyone else.
Oh, sweet, now both Datsyuk and Franzen are game-time decisions. My guess... Pavs is in, Mule is out.

First chance I've gotten to comment. Wings doing a decent job of surviving (only goal against on a deflection) but that's not going to be enough. Have to think they'll get a power play soon, momentum could shift.

It looks alright but once you scroll on the page the background is all red, the white stays at the top and is lost. I don't know if that's a good description? I can take some screenshots if needed. Also I noticed it does this on a different computer, too. It could be firefox or something.

After SJ scored their 3rd goal, I turned off the tv (it's not so much that I gave up, it's more that I hate to see the Wings defeated), cleaned up the kitchen, gave the dog her Benadryl and headed to bed. Once in the bedroom, I turned on the tv there to discover that THE WINGS HAD FRIGGING TIED THE GAME! I turned off the volume to watch the rest of it (cannot stand those Versus announcers...tonight SJ was walking on water and performing miracles), and yes, that was a very satisfying outcome. And SJ is mortal, just like the rest of us.
