It's not quite a must-win for the Red Wings as they take on the Sharks this afternoon but it's close. A win here means a split in San Jose and turning this series into five games with Detroit having home ice. A loss means they go home needing to hold serve at Joe Louis Arena.
Mike Babcock says the Wings will need the puck more today. Kinda hard to argue with that.
The Wings got on their heels in Game One after an early lead. They need to stay on top of things today, not just getting an early lead but extending it. Not letting up.
There may be a roster change for Detroit but that's not confirmed yet. Drew Miller could be swapped for Mike Modano or Kris Draper. Everything else stays the same, including the lines that feature Henrik Zetterberg and Pavel Datsyuk playing together.
Start time is 3:00 on NBC.
No lineup change, Draper, Modano and Kindl are the scratches.

I did say they (sharks) are better at basically every position, but i didnt think the wings would be dominated like this hahah. Complete garbage, and oh yea, we were the only team not to make a deadline deal. Old and Overrated! Told ya so?
It's not like the Wings are getting blown off the ice...they have their chances...just not able to finish, and maybe that's the talent of the other team...maybe it's puck luck. Howard has NOT disappointed. Let's see what the third game brings before we write them off completely.
They are simply outmatched at every position. This series is over. Its the Sharks best chance. Wings personel is just overly passive and aged. They may have skill but the other team is bigger, faster, stronger and younger. There was times in the Coyotes series where they looked like they were just waiting for the other team to do something it was really odd. I would really love this team to be blown up after this season because i'm tired of seeing a passive team playing hockey... Keep the core, add young fast hard hitting players instead of the same "I'm going to hesitate in the slot and pass it" players..
Wings are prime for picking. San Jose has the CONFIDENCE and believe they can beat the Wings any game. At least get one game wings, please?
