After last night's awful performance, last-second goal to force OT notwithstanding, it's hard for me to be motivated for tonight's game. We can only hope the Wings feel otherwise.

Lineup notes...

Mikael Samuelsson is out for the Canucks and Patrick Eaves is out for Detroit. Either Derek Meech or Jonathan Ericsson will move up to a forward spot since the Wings are too close to the cap to call anyone up from Grand Rapids.

Jimmy Howard gets another start, of course.

I don't expect to be around for this one but I'll try to keep an eye on things and check in.

Ken Daniels said the goals by Datsyuk and Bertuzzi were a new team record. Is this really true?

See above. Bottom line, no, they're not. They might be a new even-strength record but the first thing that popped into my head when I saw how quick they were was the Columbus game, 'cause I was there.
