It's Friday the 13th and the Red Wings are hoping it won't be unlucky for them as they face the Blue Jackets in Columbus. By my records, Detroit is 3-2-1 in franchise history on Friday the 13th, with a two-game losing streak.
Derek Meech comes into the Wings' lineup to replace the injured Brett Lebda. That's the only lineup change for the Red Wings as Chris Osgood gets a second start in as many nights.
Steve Mason gets the start for Columbus, returning from a bout with mono.
The Red Wings' full Friday the 13th history?
12/13/1940 - 3-2 W vs. NY Rangers
11/13/1981 - 3-3 T at Washington
11/13/1992 - 8-0 W vs. Pittsburgh
10/13/1995 - 9-0 W vs. Edmonton
11/13/1998 - 5-1 L vs. Dallas
10/13/2006 - 3-2 SOL (2-1) vs. Buffalo
Missed the first few minutes, caught them on the radio. Columbus radio guys are frikkin' annoying. No idea how the Blue Jackets' goal was scored, just that it was.
I don't think I knew Lidstrom could pretend to be Datsyuk. I guess it makes since with Pavs being so good defensively that there'd have to be some overlap the other way.
