The Red Wings ride their three-game winning streak into a matchup with the Columbus Blue Jackets tonight.
After Chris Osgood's successful return to the ice on Saturday, Ty Conklin gets the start in net for Detroit as coach Mike Babcock attempts to start a goalie rotation. Osgood is slated to get the nod on Thursday against Dallas.
Chris Chelios and Brett Lebda will be the Wings' third defensive pair, with Andreas Lilja and Derek Meech coming out of the lineup.
The Blue Jackets will get winger Jared Boll back into their lineup but will be missing Raffi Torres. Rookie Steve Mason is expected to start in net.
Wings looked sloppy in the first. Not gaining the zone well, not connecting on passes. We'll see if they can turn it around.
Oh my gosh. I'm still at a loss for words at the open net non-goal.
WOW. What a save that was. Wow.
I don't have much to say about this period. :|
AWESOME
I love Pavel Datsyuk. His streak vs. Columbus continues.
I'm happy something finally happened.
Pavs scored that one by correcting a mistake the Wings were making early in the PP. They missed a chance because a rebound came out and they had four guys lined up on the goal line. This time Pavs stayed up higher, leaving him open to jump up on the rebound.
Hossa makes it 2-0 ![]()
Even though he's just been scored on twice (because I forgot to mention this earlier) Mason is a really good goalie, which is the obvious? :| I dunno. He's good.
I'm amazed that went in. Mason looked squared up real nice but I think that was a great screen by Homer. He jumped in just as Hossa took the shot.
