Just got done shoveling the driveway for the first time this winter. Ugh. On a happier note, the gameday thread for tonight's game is now open.
The big news in Vancouver is that the Canucks will be without goalie/captain Roberto Luongo, who's "week-to-week" with an abductor strain. Curtis Sanford replaces him between the pipes.
The Red Wings will continue to be missing Tomas Holmstrom and could be without Valtteri Filppula. Filppula skipped the morning skate with flu-like symptoms and with Dan Cleary still out and Derek Meech already moved up from defense to forward to replace Holmstrom, the Wings will have to go with 11 forwards if Filppula can't go.
It blows that we can't pull up another offensive powerhouse for the time being. I'd love to see Helm or Abdelkadder out there right now.
I was all set to complain about the Wings being outplayed early and then Sammy goes and puts one in over Sanford's shoulder. Feel a little better now.
Holy lord; great saves by Osgood! ![]()
If it wasn't for him tonight man, I dunno what I'd be thinking.
And, I kinda hate to admit it, but I think I'm a closet Sedin Twins fan :'D
Wings looked absolutely awful for the final few minutes of the period there, that insane save by Osgood shouldn't have been neccessary. Glad to see that he's on his game, though.
