News out of Detroit's morning skate is that Dan Cleary will miss tonight's matchup with the Pittsburgh Penguins. Cleary has an eye infection that's been causing him some irritation.
Johan Franzen returns from his knee sprain so the Red Wings won't need to call anyone up to take Cleary's spot. Franzen skated on a line with Henrik Zetterberg and Valtteri Filppula while Mikael Samuelsson took Cleary's spot alongside Kris Draper and Jiri Hudler.
Brett Lebda will be a healthy scratch for the third game in a row and Chris Osgood gets the start in net for the Wings.
Not much on that powerplay, except Scuderi's injury. Hit by the puck on the foot off Lidstrom's slapshot. Ow.
Holy sh*t that was nice!
As catmandu said, "with the Hull move." Stick in the air for a week just waiting for the puck.
How did they let it get to OT? I mean, a f*cking 3 goal lead they had. And it'll be 4 on 3 in favour of the Pens to start.
odd game, lots of interesting bounces, and why does it seem its louder when the pens score vs when the wings score?
Jesus f*cking Christ. Remember how badass the Wings were before that bullsh*t five-on-three?
Oh yea, I'm not the only one who noticed that, good thing. The chincy calls are just so bad for the NHL, something has to give. Oh wait it did when the penguins got back into the game. The refs have to be CONSISTENT, thats all. Not to keep the the game competitive by calling weak penalties. MANY teams look better than they are with the bailout penalties and that includes the wings. Wings game hasn't been all that strong and I hope this game vs pens is a wake up call. At least they got a point?
