The Red Wings' West Coast road trip continues tonight in San Jose.
The Sharks lead the Western Conference at 8-2-0, closely followed by Detroit at 7-1-2. San Jose is also perfect at home.
Backup goalie Ty Conklin gets the start for Detroit with Chris Osgood having gone last night in Anaheim. Conklin is 3-0 this season.
Figure I'll get this out of the way now, I've got a bad feeling about tonight. Also expecting it to be a quiet night around here.
I'm a little surprised that the Wings didn't opt to go with Meech instead of Lebda on the blueline tonight. A little extra energy.
I think the Wings will be happy with the result of that period. They played pretty poorly but are still tied 0-0.
And I like that it was a relatively fast period, between the West Coast games all week, my early-morning project launch on Tuesday and playing goal in tonight's soccer game, I'm absolutely exhausted. Need a short game, not another OT game.
Again, left wide open in the front of the net. The defense looks like my soccer team's defense and we lost 17-3 tonight.
And actually looked kind of good on it. Maybe it's a start but I'm thinking that unless they score one more before the end of the period I'm going to bed and skipping the third. We'll see.
I think I'll watch the first five minutes. If the wings score, I carry on watching. If the sharks score I'll go to bed, and obviously if there's no change after five minutes I'll go to bed.
Wings just ran out of gas this game. I think sharks are really good this year and I believe this may finally be their year. Anyways, Wings need to utilize some grand rapids depth and call up some players to give others a rest and give a boost to the team's energy. Wings did a good job last year in utilizing their grand rapids talent.
