The Red Wings will be without Henrik Zetterberg for tonight's matchup with the Vancouver Canucks.
Zetterberg left Wednesday's practice early because of a groin injury and was not present for Thursday's morning skate.
Darren Helm has been called up from the Grand Rapids Griffins to fill the hole in the Red Wings' lineup.
It's sad to see Zata go (if I spelled 'Zata' right?
) but I'm thrilled Helm's making the trip up <3
Stupid clogging class ): Oh why, oh why couldn't the game have been LAST night?!?!?! >![]()

I'll also be missing chunks of the game with a 7:30 soccer game to go to. I'll catch up on the DVR I'm sure but it'll be quieter in here. I'll post any last-minute news before I leave.
Oh, that's in the net. 1-1, definitely. Deflected by Holmstrom. He's on fire. And it's confirmed. Yes!
Oh, the time has actually been wiped off. And the stadium announcer's saying that Datsyuk scored, but Holmstrom definitely touched it.
Impeccable timing on my part. ![]()
I sat down and they dropped the puck.
Sad to see they're down by one. =/
Ozzie with two huge stops after the Cleary goal.
Missed the first period and caught up until right before Cleary's goal on the radio, sounds like the Wings haven't been getting a lot of good chances.
Fourth line looking damned good right there. I can't believe Helm isn't even really supposed to be here.
Maltby is making me tiiiiiiicked. =/
He's not going to fight, and if he does, he will surely get beaten up. I believe there is no need for penalties. =/
Vancouver penalty to O'Brien, if I spelled that right? ![]()
Ken and Mickey talking about not being able to keep Helm out of the league for long, but where the hell are the Wings going to find room for him? They've got six damn line they could play right now, it's insane. Helm, Abdelkader, Leino, McCarty and Downey could all be on any other NHL team (though technically McCarty is in Detroit).
That period seemed to just fly by.
That it did, but it was pure win ![]()
I was thinking...last time I went to a game a player was signing books there and smiled at people as they walked by. I think it was Delvecchio.
That's such a cool last name!
Damnit. What a clusterf*ck on the Vancouver goal. Have all their goals been like that?
For the first one, the shot was blocked, the puck bounced off the backboards to the other side of the goal and the goal was wide open. Second goal was a shot from the left which took a big deflection that looped over Osgood's pad.
Cleary should have shot instead of passing to Draper, everyone knows Draper can't finish.
Edit: And we go to OT. First time this season.
f*ck! that was quick. Vancouver get the win. A sub-par performance overall by the wings, especially in the first and third periods.
