Chris Osgood gets the start in net for the Red Wings tonight, his second start in a row with Dominik Hasek oh the shelf again with a sore back. Hasek won't even dress for the game, Jimmy Howard has been called up to act as the backup.
Darren Helm joins Howard on the trip to Detroit. The center will make his NHL debut as Kris Draper will sit with a groin injury. He's expected to miss three games.
Darren McCarty won't make his return to the Red Wings lineup yet but he did practice with the team today.
Tomas Holmstrom remains out.

Weird play with Osgood moving off the post on Dallas' third goal. Can't tell if kicking to make the stop pushed him off or if he was cheating to the other side, thinking the puck went behind the net.

I watched most of the third on fast-forward 'cause it's so late. Huge save by Ozzie with about a minute left. Pretty strong team play throughout that period for both teams.
I got an autograph from Darren Helm 2 weeks ago when the Griffins played the Lake Erie Monsters. I never expected him to get recalled, so now it makes it much more valuable. I also got one from Carl Corrazzini. I'm thinking he will be called up next season.
